Visiting Assistant Instructor/Assistant Professor of Instruction - Geosciences (Finance)



The School of Geosciences at the University of South Florida (USF) invites applications for either a Visiting Assistant Instructor or a Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction for the 2025-2026 academic year, beginning August 7, 2025. This is a full time, 9-month, non-tenure earning position. This is a one-year visiting appointment with the possibility of renewal.

USF's School of Geosciences offers a collaborative and supportive environment, with strong ties to State and government partners, as well as a commitment to high-impact teaching and research. Facilities include our Geology Field Station located in Makay (Idaho), where field instruction takes place for undergraduate and graduate courses, including Structural Geology.

  • An M.S. from an accredited institution in Geology or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to teach undergraduate-level geoscience courses effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Ph.D. in Geology or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment.
  • Experience teaching Structural Geology and/or computational geoscience topics.
  • A commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching practices.
