Fleet Specialist (Finance)
The Fleet Specialist monitors and supports the Fleet operations focusing on continuously analyzing and filling gaps in process and personnel coverage. The role will provide support to the Fleet Manager and overall operation, including tracking fleet movements, scheduling appointments for inbound and outbound freight, communicating with and dispatching drivers, resolving shipment delays, and surrounding issues, and ensuring accurate data flow within the operation and the core TMS. The Fleet Specialist will assist the Fleet Manager in analyzing daily operations to produce cost-efficient and data-driven solutions while delivering customer service excellence. This role will support the Maintenance unit in installing and updating ELD devices and assisting in technology advancements.
To ensure success in this role, you willworkin collaboration with alloperational business unitsand present continuous improvementmethodologiestomaximize efficiencyand profitability.The Fleet Specialistwill aid infleet specificprojectwork andwill continuouslyseek toidentifynewtechnologiesand support the adoptionand leveraging of new technologies.You will be held accountable to comply with all defined business process and the utilization of all technology platforms, as defined by FST.?You willupdate, maintain, and establish SOPs, and assist with training initiatives.The Fleet Specialist will facilitate process improvement efforts within the daily operations andassist in developing means to better supportFST, our customers, and ouremployee and driver base.
Qualifications and Skillsets:
Live FST Traits of Reliable, Invested, Responsive, Adaptable, Passionate, and InnovativeTake ownership of your Duty to Communicate all required and relevant information to necessary people, departments, and customersMinimum of 3 years of experience working in dispatch or a similar industry that dealt with drivers on a regular basisMinimums of 2 years leadership experienceStrong knowledge of TMS, preferably TruckMatePrior experience with process improvement and developing Standard Operating ProceduresProven ability to analyzeanddocument business processesAbility to collaborate across teams and business unitsAbilityto think creatively andpush cohesiveideas upwardsPrior experience in maintenance-related dutiesStrong interpersonal skills and problem management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong time managementand multi-taskingskillsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft suite, including Microsoft Outlook, Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPointBachelors degree in preferredor 3 years of practical experience in such a field
