Quality Control Technician (R&D)

Position Summary/Objective

The Quality Control Technician functions to support quality control testing on finished goods and raw materials to ensure timely availability of lot release, stability and other required analytical data.

Essential Functions

  • Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process.
  • Tests and inspects raw materials.
  • Assists in the preparation of specifications for raw materials and/or finished products.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Prepares samples, standards, solvent mixtures, and reagents for HPLC analysis.
  • Experience with Lab Solutions Software is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills, understanding importance of test/audit parameters and accuracy in reporting.
  • Perform or coordinate the periodic review of SOPs for the QC Department.
  • Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly.
  • Communicate quality or compliance concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintains laboratory related documentation for the purpose of audits.

Education and Experience

  • At least an Associate degree in a science related field preferred (Bachelors degree is a plus).
  • At least two years related laboratory experience 
  • 1-2 years of HPLC experience, especially with Shimadzu equipment is a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
  • Basic math skills (counting, weighing, addition, subtraction, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
