Health & Safety Engineer II (Finance)



ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a global leader in innovation and sustainability! Honeywell is hiring a Health and Safety Engineer to support our Solstice manufacturing facilities in Baton Rouge or Geismar, Louisiana.

In this hands-on role, you'll partner with cross-functional teams and plant leadership to drive a strong health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture while ensuring compliance with internal and external safety standards.

You'll conduct audits, lead training initiatives, and act as a coach and influencer-helping frontline employees and supervisors build a safe, efficient workplace.

This is an onsite role reporting directly to the Site HSE Manager.

  • Minimum 1 year of Health and Safety experience
  • High School Diploma or GED

WE VALUE
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • Safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, RSO)
  • Experience in manufacturing or chemical processing environments
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory frameworks
  • Proven ability to influence safety culture and employee engagement
  • Lead and support HSE programs to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Conduct regular HSE audits and field assessments
  • Assist in developing and delivering employee HSE training
  • Champion Honeywell's Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) Program
  • Drive continuous improvement using tools like Gemba walks, standard work, and visual management
  • Promote positive safety behaviors and hazard recognition at all levels of the plant
  • Collaborate with teams to embed HSE into daily operations
