Tree Care Account Manager (Maintenance)



Job Purpose:The Tree Care Account Manager is responsible for all aspects of tree sales and operations. Manages accounts through the efficient use of labor, materials, processes and proper staff supervision to produce desired profit margins and optimal customer satisfaction. Establishes scope of work, estimates, proposals and scheduling of multiple tree care jobs. Establishes and maintains good working relationships with clients. Follows all Company policies, procedures and safety guidelines. Performs related work as required.
Key Responsibilities:Ensures all safety procedures are always implementedEnsures the number one priority of all crews and personnel is safety firstAssumes full responsibility for multiple tree care accountsManages customer expectations efficientlyProposes tree care pruning, removals and plant health care recommendations and can implement with crewsUnderstands different pruning techniques and can implement with crewsUnderstands principles of tree removals, including rigging techniques and can implement with crewsImplementation of work zones during tree care operation, so that the crewmembers and public are kept safeGeneral understanding and implementation of traffic control, when necessaryManages all tree care tools and equipment, so that unsafe and malfunctioning items are removed from serviceimmediately, until repaired or replacedManages regular service schedule for trucks and equipmentAddresses risks and hazards associated with all tree care operations (e.g. utility lines, space requirements etc.)Develops and creates full tree care plans that include GPS mapping of trees along with recommendationsUtilizes company software correctly to schedule and manage accountsCompletes paperwork and customer requests accurately and on timeCreates effective reports and presentations using company templatesAttends client board meetings, conducts landscape walks with clients and independentlyMakes responsible recommendations to clientsTags removals ahead of time and works to direct crews on scope of work performedCompletes business processes in a timely and accurate fashionComplies with and acts as role model for all organizational policies and proceduresIs available for "on call" emergenciesProvides excellent service (e.g. accurate, complete, timely) to clients, team members and other staffFollows up on outstanding proposals with clientsSends tree care schedule to maintenance division and managers ahead of timePost tree trimming notices when necessaryKey Performance Indicators:Manages all tree care accounts to achieve overall profitability to company standardRetains client accounts through client relationships and quality performanceFollows and directs staff in all safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuriesProduces high quality work that is on timeCommunicates effectively: follows up and doesn't need to be asked twice, keeps others posted on progress
Manages tree task log to ensure requests are completed on timeSchedules, tracks and completes work tickets
Primary Skills and Education Required:Positive attitude: ability to follow rules and instructions, work safely, and work well with othersCommunicate effectively in written and spoken EnglishPossesses a valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record2 years of professional tree care experienceA 2- or 4-year degree in Horticulture, Plant Science or other related field is beneficialA combination of experience and education as outlined above is idealWorking knowledge of the principles, practices and methods associated with tree care (e.g., tree identification,plant health care recommendations, pruning types, tree risk assessments, recommended removals etc.)Competence in math and technologyGood time management and organizationAbility to solve problems in a positive and practical mannerApplies principles of supervision and team buildingAbility to lead and manage a teamAbility to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environmentAbility to work well under stressFocuses on exceeding the expectations of customersApplies principles of supervision and team buildingObtain ISA Certified Arborist certification within the first 12 months on the jobObtain ISA TRAQ (Tree Risk Assessment Qualification) within the first 2 years on the jobObtain TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) is encouragedWork Environment:Work is predominantly outdoors, exposed to varying temperatures, weather conditions, and noise levels. Exposure todust, pesticides, fertilizers, grease, oils, dust, fumes and electrical currents will occur. Standing for long periods,walking for long distances, or crouching, is commonplace, including on narrow, uneven and/or slippery surfaces. Thejob requires stooping, lifting, carrying or otherwise transporting up to 50 pounds. Driving to and from worksites maybe required. Frequent and repetitive use of hand and powered tools is required. Use of computers, phones andother technologies will be necessary.
