Estimator (Finance)



Job Summary:

The Estimator is responsible for the development, maintenance, and adjustment of cost models and cost estimates for value-added processing opportunities. This role ensures accurate pricing related to value-added contractual obligations and supports the general sales efforts for value-added processing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of Value-Added Processing Opportunities for Compatibility:
    Assess the feasibility and alignment of value-added processing opportunities with company capabilities and goals, ensuring compatibility with current operations

  • Development and Maintenance of Cost-Estimating Tools for Value-Added Process Quoting:
    Design and maintain cost-estimating tools that help create accurate pricing models for value-added processes. Regularly update these tools based on market changes and internal adjustments

  • Development of Product and Customer-Specific Quotes for Value-Added Processing Opportunities:
    Generate customized quotes for specific products and clients based on value-added processing needs. Collaborate with sales and other teams to ensure the quotes meet the needs of the customer while staying within budgetary constraints

  • Maintenance of Cost Models and Pricing Programs for Contractual Value-Added Processing Business:
    Ensure that cost models and pricing programs for contractual value-added processing remain up-to-date and reflect the latest data. Adjust these models based on contractual obligations, market conditions, and business needs

  • Sales Support:
    Collaborate with the sales team to provide pricing data, analysis, and support in securing value-added processing business. Assist in responding to inquiries and proposals with timely and competitive cost estimates

  • Other Duties as Assigned:
    Take on additional responsibilities as directed by management to support business operations and objectives
