About this role:
TheSenior Configuration Manager will work with the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture Blood Establishment Computer Software (VBECS) team for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In this position, the senior Configuration Manager would work with the team and be responsible for configuration management support services to the VBECS Product and ensure best practices, standards, and regulations are adhered to. This includes source control, build management, software and system versions and configuration management, as well as deployment and release procedures. Additionally, the Configuration Manager will assist in holding Change Management Committee meetings to review tasks in JIRA and document any action items and notes from stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible to ensure all system artifacts are entered into the software lifecycle management tool and that traceability from original source to implementation is documented
Be the expert in the software lifecycle management used by the project and coach the team on expectations
Ensure version control is used properly, that artifact history is maintained, and FDA regulations are adhered to
Establish standards for system environments and manage consistency between those environments to increase quality and limit risks introduced by variability
Facilitate the change management process as it relates to VBECS product updates
Communicate with VA Stakeholders to prepare for system upgrades and releases
Identify, define, and estimate duration for CM activities
Participate in a Change Management Committee and assist in updating a Requirements Traceability Matrix.
Identify aspects of configuration management and integrate into VBECS test cases and validation protocols
Create baselines for products and all related artifacts and maintain baselines in the software lifecycle management tool
Determine components and other configuration items which need to be under configuration and change control and document a list of all items
