WHO YOU ARE

As the Design Support Coordinator you will demonstrate a high level of customer service while working with Customers to coordinate and create design projects, in a timely and professional manner. You will have an eye for spatial, utility and color scheme design visualization, with excellent product knowledge. You will assess customer needs, guide customer decisions, evaluate scope of project, integrate information into a design layout, and drive sales.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

At our ClosetMaid world head-quarters in Ocala. This is a 600,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and office facility.

You will initially work remote, from your home office.  Your safety and that of all our employees is essential at The AMES Companies, thus our office is currently closed due to Covid Safety measures.

 We've implemented a virtual hiring process and continue to interview candidates by phone or TEAMS video and are onboarding new hires remotely.

We will provide all equipment needed to be successful in your job.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide before and after sales support to consumers via Phone, and email.
  • Before Sales Support – Product, Pricing, Design, and ‘Where to Buy' information.
  • After Sales Support – Installation and Assembly, Warranty, Safety & Hazard, Returns & Refunds.
  • Ask open ended questions about customer's projects in order to determine their needs.
  • Provide aesthetic and efficient creative design suggestions from based on information provided by Customer.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through active listening.
  • Recommend the proper parts and quantities needed for installation. 
  • Utilize resources to walk through customers with their design solutions.
  • Provide accurate and complete drawings for job requests made by Architects, Designers, Builders, and Contractors for bid submittals.
  • Prepare quotation on Material and Labor, based on Dealer/Installer's pricing scheme.
  • Assist Builders in creating upgrade solutions by creating builder book based on their requirements.
  • Log, and update customer information gathered during consultations and follow up into the central information system.
  • Escalate problems that are unable to be resolved on the spot through proper channel.
  • Prepare status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
  • Establish and maintain a positive relationship with current and potential clients.
  • Perform follow-up communication activities via phone, email and chat.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED a must. Trade school degree in design a plus.
  • 1-2 years of interior design support and visualization experience a plus.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Proficient in Outlook and Excel (lookups, pivot tables, forecasting functions, macros) with basic skills in Word and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of AS400 is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Stay calm under stressful situations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to perform basic math functions and calculate dimensions, and amounts.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and perform critical reasoning.
  • Maintain competency level in technical know-how and pass all functional certification assessments.
  • Stay current on design trends.
