Inventory Control Craftsman (PAL) (Agriculture)



JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Primary functions are to photograph plants, upload accurate photos of our salable inventory, update plants' growing status, and place identification stakes in the field.  The secondary function is to keep an accurate inventory count, document discrepancies, assure plants are growing according to schedule, and assist the inventory coach. This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.  This is a seasonal position. Work from March through to the end of November.  Typical hours are Mon - Fri 7 am to 1:00 pm (additional hours as needed).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Digital photography of salable plants.
  2. Updates plant status comments.
  3. Measures and maintain plant specifications
  4. Prepares stakes and identification labels, and places them in the field using a hammer.
  5. Physically counts plants in the area.
  6. Documents discrepancies in the field.
  7. Verifies availability list of plants in the field.
  8. Assists in the grading of plants in the field, and quality control.
  9. Communicates with other team coaches within the area.
  10. Walking, lifting up-to 40 lbs., squatting, bending, and reaching.
  11. Adheres to safety policies and procedures.
  12. Other duties as assigned to meet departmental requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A minimum of 2 years experience with photography, inventory, and/or nursery work
  2. Must be able to accurately count large quantities of plants for most of the day.
  3. Must be able to take photos of plants lined up with a vertical ruler and symmetrical.
  4. Plant knowledge is preferred.  If none, must have a willingness to learn plants and plant quality.
  5. Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  6. A high level of sustained focus is required.
  7. Ability to take initiative with minimal direction.
  8. Must be able to efficiently and professionally interact with people of varied backgrounds.
  9. Must be able to drive a pick-up truck or rugged terrain vehicle (RTV)
  10. Strong communication and listening skills.
