You will work as a valued member of the process engineering team to improve existing and commission new metal processing equipment and processes.

 

 

Here's What You'll Get To Do

  • Assist in commissioning new equipment and in performing upgrades/retrofits to existing equipment.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to the process maintenance team as needed.
  • Investigate, identify, and devise solutions in areas including but not limited to
    • Equipment safety functions
    • Reduce downtime, increase product quality, and improve process throughput.
    • Recurring process issues
    • Machine alarming and fault indication
  • Develop new or improve upon existing product recipe functions.
  • Leverage existing or create historical data points in order to highlight process weak points and possible improvements.
  • Develop automated reports using Ignition to present historical data in a meaningful and accurate way.
  • Advise and assist with capital project planning and execution.
  • Act as the systems liaison when working with OEM's.
  • Ensure relevant work performed by contractors meets OBE standards.
  • Design and build controls panels for in house projects.
  • Provide control system support during machine installations and modifications as necessary.
  • Develop positive working relationships with production personnel and operators in order to facilitate process upkeep/improvement efforts.

 

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ Years of experience working as a controls engineer or in a similar equivalent position.
  • Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, industrial, other relevant fields of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • Working knowledge of industrial control system platforms including Allen Bradley PLC, HMI, VFD, and other control component configuration.
  • Working knowledge of current relevant industry design standards and codes such as NFPA, ANSI, ISO, etc.
  • Allen Bradley GuardLogix programming and implementation experience preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, function block, and structured text.
  • Working knowledge of industrial networking topology and configuration.
  • Experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation highly preferred but not required.
  • Ability to use and work with SQL databases highly preferred.
  • Excellent industrial control system troubleshooting ability.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read equipment electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Proficient in the use of CAD software to create and edit schematics and other equipment drawings and layouts.
  • Self-Motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to occasionally provide after hours support either remotely or in person.
  • Proficient computer skills using typical software such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
