Engineer I-Calibration and Metrology (Finance)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop Calibration and Metrology work instructions to support new equipment calibration and validation activities
  • Complete calibration NCR evaluation and action plans for NCR/CAPA related to Calibration/Metrology team.
  • Evaluate calibration frequencies, gage life, and fit for purpose on inspection equipment.
  • Provides project management support for planning, development, installation, validation, and modification of inspection equipment.
  • Development of validation requirements (URS/FRS) in conjunction with validation Engineering for Metrology inspection equipment platforms.
  • Complete the execution of Measurement and test equipment software validations
  • Applies knowledge of GD&T and Metrology principles to program coordinate Metrology systems to ensure products meet specifications and drawings.
  • Complete Gage repeatability and reproducibility studies for new inspection gages and programs
  • Participate in design Review meetings for new product introductions and Quality plan approvals
  • Collaborate with the supplier quality team, Design Quality engineering team, and Design engineering team to ensure the product drawings meet design to manufacturing and inspection requirements
  • Participate in team meetings to resolve inspection methods between Arthrex suppliers and multiple sites.
  • Lead multi-site projects and represent Metrology function- programming strategy, G D& T strategy, software upgrades, and other applicable electronic and data collection systems
  • Work with principal Metrologist to develop Measurement strategy and standards for features per ASME Y14.5 G D & T
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers on special projects related to Metrology Programming needs
  • Identifies and drives cost reduction projects utilizing the Lean Manufacturing principle.
  • Maintains compliance and executes all internal policies, procedures, and all related paperwork under ISO/FDA guidelines.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required
  • Experience managing high-level projects preferred
  • Knowledge of Measurement system analysis and Gage R&R preferred
  • Knowledge of Coordinate Metrology applications and systems Programming preferred
  • Knowledge of Calibration standards and traceability and uncertainty of calibrations preferred
  • Applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, principles to program Metrology software and applications preferred
  • ASME Y14.5 G D & T Certification preferred

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Mechanical Aptitude. Metrology applications and programming systems preferred. Uncertainty of calibrations, and traceability of calibration standards preferred. Measurement system analysis, Gage R&R preferred. Machining properties of common metals and alloys. Good mechanical aptitude. Ability to read blueprints. General knowledge of drafting concepts.
