Director, Central Grocery (Finance)



Job Description:

The Director, Central Grocery will lead a sales team to achieve all assigned business targets (gross/net sales, share, and other retailer and Mars KPIs) through a multi-year customer and people strategy. This role manages a team of associates (five account managers and two sales analysts) and is responsible for the development of associates and creating an inclusive high-performing team culture. The Director is also responsible for managing the relationship with the customer merchant teams and engaging internal stakeholders in pursuit of business delivery.

What are we looking for?

• 10+ years of direct selling experience within CPG industry and advanced knowledge of trade management. Combination of sales and customer facing category, analytics, marketing experience will be considered.

•Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships with retail customers and internal business stakeholders

•Direct selling and category management experience across retailers, illustrating ability to develop and execute multi-year growth strategy

•Strong analytic skills and ability to distill complex data into simple stories

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Manage +$50M budgets across Trade, Marketing, Retail Media, Logistics, and Non-Working to deliver mutually profitable business plans > $300M in gross sales.

• Develop robust development and objective plans, drive engagement and ensure team is clear on priorities and objectives across the business.

•Represent customer(s) on Grocery leadership team to establish goals and priorities, and to provide strategic direction for the total business.

• Set strategic vision and manage the sales team to deliver established goals and priorities.

•Lead the team in development and communication of sales initiatives and related action plans that deliver account objectives - including trade/customer P&L management, promotional activity and effectiveness, customer management and negotiation, and internal communications.

• Lead the team to create and deliver best practice presentations which not only attain customer objectives but provide future opportunities as well.

• Lead cross-functional collaboration within MPN and with customers to guide best in class collaboration across supply chain, customer service, category management, and marketing.

• Assist in MPN-wide initiatives and to deliver enterprise objectives and portfolio goals.
