Wire Drawing Operator - 2nd Shift (Manufacturing)



Job Summary

Operate, set-up, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot Wire Drawing machinery, all stations, as relief support for lunch, breaks, and vacations as required. Assists in monitoring quality of product/process, monitors safety on equipment, job functions, assists in employee training, and maintaining continuous uptime on wire drawing machinery and support functions.

Hours: 2:30pm - 11:00pm plus overtime as schedule

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Must possess the necessary skills to assists wire drawing cell technician and relieves cell technician for lunch, breaks, vacation and other attendance related support.
  • Maintains communication flow with supervisor, employee and cell technicians on changes, concerns, or feedback to the departments operation and process.
  • Insures that wire product is being produced to standards of quality and quantity.
  • Accurately uses measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, control boards, etc.) to monitor the production process and log information.
  • Operates and cross trains on every support station of Wire Drawing machinery.
  • Operates forklifts, tuggers and overhead cranes as required to to sustain productivity at all times, such as for lunch, breaks, vacations and other attendance related support.
  • Interact with necessary computer related equipment to monitor process.
  • Provide hand tools not supplied by the department.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Assists in production mechanical changeovers.
  • Maintains good housekeeping standards.
  • Maintains appropriate control of tools and parts.
  • Assists maintenance as required.
  • Must have the ability to work successfully in a team environment and exhibit positive work habits at all times.
  • Must be flexible enough to work overtime and/or varying shifts as business needs dictate while maintaining regular attendance.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0 to 3 years of experience

  • Responsible for ensuring that specified quality standards are met for all tasks completed.
