Senior Marketing Project Manager (Project Management)

Wintrust is hiring a Senior Marketing Project Manager to take ownership of project management for the marketing department, including the project management platform. The Senior Marketing Project Manager is a highly organized leader with deep expertise in project management and a proven ability to drive clarity, momentum, and collaboration across fast-moving, cross-functional teams. In this critical, hands-on role, they'll guide a team of Marketing Project Managers to provide exceptional communication, sharp problem-solving, and thorough attention to detail.

What You'll Do

Project Management

  • Own and evolve our marketing project workflows, adopting existing systems while rolling out new, efficient, scalable processes for the marketing department across our lines of business.
  • Act as the central point of coordination between Marketing, Creative, and IT teams, ensuring alignment, clarity, and accountability from kickoff to launch.
  • Be fluent in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies and know when to apply each. This role requires someone who can flex between structured timelines and fast-moving iterations, depending on the project's needs.
  • Practice true expertise in risk management, with the ability to anticipate roadblocks and proactively solve problems before they derail progress, adjusting plans and communicating changes clearly and constructively.
  • Utilize deep understanding of project management software and how to maximize the tool's potential.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, proposing smart fixes, and measuring what's working.
  • Lead improvements to the existing project management platform based on user feedback and prior experience to create more efficient processes and project production.

Team Management and Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of Marketing Project Managers across multiple marketing lines of business, providing strategic direction, support, and growth opportunities while managing their own key projects.
  • Help drive high-impact marketing by keeping creative teams focused, timeline realistic, and deliverables on point.
  • Manage the allocation of staffing resources across all projects, ensuring that team members are assigned based on skillset, project needs, and availability.
  • Champion clarity and communication, facilitating meetings, sharing updates, and keeping all stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Model calm, confidence, and positivity in high-pressure situations- setting the tone for a motivated, solutions-oriented team.

Administration

  • Identify project reporting needs and create/automate dashboards for teams and managers. Meets weekly with marketing leadership to provide reporting and updates.
  • Work with stakeholders and business lines to improve communication flow and reduce unnecessary back-and-forth.
  • Define and implement project budgets based on project scope, objectives, and requirements.

Qualifications/Background

  • 7+ years of project management experience, ideally in a creative marketing or cross-functional team environment.
  • Proven leadership skills, comfortable mentoring team members, and managing up with clarity and confidence.
  • Deep expertise using different project management software applications, including Workfront.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills, proven to keep projects on track and ahead of schedule.
  • Top-tier communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to confidently guide conversations across all levels of the business.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure, meeting deadlines and juggling moving parts without losing momentum or morale.
  • A collaborative spirit, able to work across lines of business and functions, and get the best out of every team.
  • A strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills and experience
