Quality Control Technician (R&D)
The Quality Control Technician is primarily responsible for the execution of the sample management program at New England Biolabs (NEB) Ipswich Headquarters. The samples and reagents are used in the QC Laboratories for testing of products, intermediates, and plant utilities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for receipt and entry of QC samples, as well as upkeep and organization of sample storage/disposal.
Oversee sample organization in refrigerators and freezers.
Communicate between submitters and QC analysts about sample analysis needs.
Perform any combination of sample management tasks, including labeling, aliquoting, ordering tests, inventory control and disposing of samples after defined retention policy.
Verify data entry completed by others.
Maintain a working library of common reagents and reference materials.
Assist in the management of retain system incoming/outgoing receipts.
Perform routine assays and techniques such as pH/conductivity and gel electrophoresis.
Organize and report test results.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific discipline
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with others
Ability to compile data into written reports
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet deadlines
Strong recordkeeping and organizational skills
Ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and manage multiple assignments with challenging/conflicts deadlines
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
1-2 years of industry experience is preferred but not required
Experience using Benchling Electronic Lab Notebook (or similar), SAP, TrackWise, PowerPoint and other MS Office suite tools is preferred
