Senior Cybersecurity Analyst (Information Technology)

POSITION SUMMARY


The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst acts as an intermediary between the business community and the security team working with IT project teams and business clients to collect, clarify, and translate security requirements into documentation and assist in conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which applications and solutions are developed. The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst is an active thought partner and application visionary who shapes security solutions by gaining an intimate understanding of the business community. The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst will report to the Cybersecurity group in the Information Technology department.
 

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions

  • Works cross-functionally to create and maintain the ongoing development of NexTier's Cybersecurity program
  • Partners with business and technology stakeholders to elicit, analyze, translate, and document security requirements into technical requirements
  • Analyzes, documents and, tests security initiatives and specifications
  • Partners with business partners to understand the impacts of security solutions on day-to-day operations.
  • Documents user manuals to describe security procedures.
  • Scopes and coordinates mail security campaigns, and prepare metrics and KPI data.
  • Gathers and analyzes security-related KPIs for upward reporting
  • Updates IT Service Management Tickets as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge/Skill/Ability

  • Ability to understand security and business functionality and translate it into requirements
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
  • Self-starter with a desire to gain new knowledge and solve interesting problems.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze, distill and correlate multiple data sources to make compelling business cases
  • Basic understanding of the system and network infrastructure, mail routing, information risk, security guidelines, and architecture standards
  • Intermediate understanding of cybersecurity standards, risk, and compliance
  • In-depth understanding of the various software development lifecycles (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Familiarity of SIEM query language(s) (e.g. Kusto, Splunk)
  • Experience with ETL, a scripting language, REST APIs and automation technologies preferred
  • Experience with NIST CSF preferred

Minimum Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's Degree or Ph.D. preferred

Minimum Required Work Experience

  • 3 years of experience in a Cybersecurity or IT role at a minimum
