Shipping Supervisor (Manufacturing)



Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks

  • Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, warehousing, and shipping products or materials.
  • Provide training to staff.
  • Maintain budget within operating parameters.
  • Implement shipping and warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
  • Partner with customer service to ensure shipping instructions, routing information and delivery times and locations are accurate.
  • Schedule and monitor pickup and/or delivery of products and materials.
  • Confer with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as all production departments, sales, purchasing, customer service
  • Maintain accurate inventory records; WIP, finished goods and outside services.
  • Perform routine cycle counts.
  • Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports, and demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and issue work assignments.
  • Review production schedules and demand forecasts to estimate and order packaging and other supplies
  • Review production schedules and confer with all production departments to coordinate production delivery through various vendors
  • Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets, and equipment, and order testing, maintenance, repair, or replacement as necessary.
  • Responsible for knowing and following all environmental, health and safety rules, policies, and procedures for work area and takes responsibility to assure that personal work activity is conducted in such a way so as to not affect the safety of themselves or others.
  • Engage in continuous improvement through lean activities.
  • Promote and embrace customer satisfaction as it relates to on-time delivery, productivity, quality and customer satisfaction.

Education and Experience
