Transit Data Coordinator (Finance)

Advance the mission and goals of PSTA by supporting the development of thoughtful and technically sound plans and projects. Provide support associated with data collection, entry, analysis, and reporting. Conduct planning activities for transportation projects under the direction of other PSTA staff.
This position is housed in the Planning Department and supports long-range planning, route analysis, service development, scheduling and other data related studies and activities. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented and able to use software designed to easily communicate data to a broader audience across the agency.
The position will report to the Principal Scheduler and coordinate closely with the planning group.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Working on or achieved Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in Transportation, Planning, Business, Statistics, Data Analytics or related field is preferred.
Experience of 2 years in a planning, scheduling or data position in a transit system can substitute for education requirement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: Data collection methods; regulatory agency reporting requirements; basic accounting principles.
Preferred: Transit/Transportation planning experience (agency or consultant) which may include ESRI ArcGIS, SPSS, Excel, Tableau and graphic design. Experience with scheduling practices and/or general software management is preferred.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to work within a collaborative team environment and be comfortable providing assistance to multiple project managers. An ability to work across diverse departments and disciplines with respect, tact and professionalism is required. Successful candidates should also demonstrate their ability to be thoughtful, conscientious, organized, creative and passionate.
