Job Title:                  Working Foreperson - Sanitation

Job Summary:

To provide technical and directive leadership to sanitation personnel. To lead by example. To assist in developing and maintaining a strong training base throughout the sanitation department. To achieve optimum safety, sanitation, quality and sanitation standards though proper and consistent use of all available resources at all times.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Directs the workforce with the guidance of sanitation / operations management.
  • Implements, coordinates, maintains and increases training and/or skill level of sanitation employees using all available resources. This includes but is not limited to; training of new employees, training of existing employees, ergonomics, HAACP or sanitation/GMP training.
  • Confronts daily packaging issues in a positive, constructive and cooperative manner.
  • Assists line personnel to minimize/decrease waste and downtime between and during runs.
  • Supports sanitation department as needed to ensure maximum safety, sanitation, product quality and productivity.
  • Helps to maintain effective, positive communication within the sanitation department and other areas.
  • Assists in the maintaining and implementation of the Kleanz Program.
  • Provides input that contributes to the development of new or existing sanitation processes or procedures.
  • Works with sanitation personnel of all classifications to ensure correct and timely completion of sanitation documentation. This includes but is not limited to all documentation that may be a necessary function of the department.
  • Any duty assigned by the department supervisor or their designee.
  • Working foremen may be, at any time, required to fill in for absences for either sanitation personnel or supervision, but only under guidelines provided by the Union Contract.
  • This is a general outline of the job description and may be revised at any time to support the requirements of the position as determined by B&G Foods Inc.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Candidate must have been qualified as a Sanitor at one time during their employment with B&G Foods Inc.
  • Candidate must be able to qualify as a Sanitor in 90 days.
  • Candidate must be able to complete specific training on selected equipment that is pertinent to the assigned sanitation work requirements when additional training needs are determined.
  • Candidate must pass selected screening process.

SQF:

Responsible for reporting any and all food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Responsible for following cGMP's

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and good housekeeping

Ensure all food safety and quality records are completed accurately and timely

Follow all appropriate equipment cleaning procedure

Work Environment:

This position is in a manufacturing plant environment, works around moving mechanical parts, is exposed to airborne particles, works with toxic chemicals and works around motorized vehicles.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
