We are currently seeking a Designer to provide engineering support to the manufacturing team. Ideally, this individual will be very “hands on”, have a solid foundation of engineering principles and be proficient with drafting/designing, CNC machine programming and operation.  Our Designers are creative, self-motivated, collaborative, and results-oriented.

Your Role as a Designer:

  • Develop detailed 3D models and shop drawings used to manufacture architectural and artistic structures and concrete formliners (aka The Art of Concrete).
  • Utilize MasterCAM to program parts to be run on the CNC machines.
  • Assist in the development of sales estimates as needed.
  • Input sales orders, create and process work orders in the ERP system.
  • Work with customers to receive appropriate approvals.
  • Respond to technical questions from customers or the Scott System team.
  • Work closely with the Technical Sales on new product development, renderings, etc.

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of AAS in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills.
  • Solid understanding of computer software programs, including MasterCAM or other CAM software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced math skills (ability to convert fractions to decimals and conversely decimals to fractions).
  • Ability to perform moderate physical labor in a shop environment, including accessing equipment at various heights and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
  • CNC machine operation experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
