Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Reconciliation Analyst to join our Alternative Investments Syndicated Bank Loans Team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate position data by reconciling Northern Trust's records with those of Investment Managers, and third-party vendors. In this role you will also be responsible for processing pending trades and capitalized interest transactions-supporting the accuracy and integrity of loan activity and balances. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a foundation in financial operations within a dynamic, high-accountability environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily position reconciliations across assigned accounts using internal reconciliation tools and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Research, identify, and resolve position breaks and exceptions between Northern Trust, Investment Managers, and vendor data.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external email inquiries.
  • Process and validate pending trades and capitalized interest transactions to ensure timely and accurate updates to loan positions.
  • Collaborate with Investment Managers and internal departments (e.g. accounting, client services) to address breaks and data discrepancies.
  • Document reconciliation findings, resolution steps, and track outstanding issues.
  • Assist in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Gain fluency in internal systems, proprietary software, and reconciliation tools to support daily workflows.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general Office applications
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work under deadlines
  • Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and accountability

Preferred:
  • Internship/work experience or academic experience in finance, accounting, loan servicing, or trade operations
