Publix is seeking an Associate Quality Assurance Engineer to assist with the assurance of high-quality technology solutions (infrastructure, software, middleware, etc.). On lower complexity projects, the Associate Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for all project manual quality assurance activities or creating automated test cases using Behavior Driven Development terminology within a test automation framework.  The Associate Quality Assurance Engineer works closely with the project leadership team to perform automation test execution and create test cases across all projects.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Perform test execution of test scripts.
  • Create and maintain manual and automated test scripts and test cases ensuring they meet testing specifications.
  • Write automated test cases using Behavior Driven Development terminology within a test automation framework.
  • Execute manual or automated test scripts with any complexity level on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Estimate tasks effort for the automation testing activities within projects.
  • Update automated test scripts to improve existing feature functionality and new feature development.
  • Oversee and/or execute test scripts when leading lower complexity projects, including setting up the test environment and verifying the test results for success under close guidance.
  • Identify incorrect or unexpected results during execution of a test case.
  • Capture defect details such as steps taken and the test scenario in the test management tool so defects can be recreated and investigated.
  • Escalate defects to the appropriate project team member to resolve and manage disposition of each defect.
  • Review project requirements and high-level system designs, derive test strategies and test plans to effectively test the solution, execute the plan, and report results in a test summary on lower complexity projects under close guidance.
  • Create and communicate effective test metrics and reports based on test executions.
  • Associate degree in computer science, a related analytical field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to understand software testing concepts and system functionality
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Ability to create Test Plans and Test Summaries
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on a variety of projects
  • 1+ years' experience with software testing concepts, environments, and standards
  • 1+ years' experience with relational databases
  • 1+ years' experience with SQL query syntax
  • 1+ years' experience with software development methodologies and programming
