Our Equipment Maintenance Technician IV role dedicated to maintenance of laser welding equipment used in medical device manufacturing. Skills applicable to this role are:
•Knowledge of spot and seam lasers (ILT, Unitek Miyachi) and Allen Bradley controlled systems.
•Ability to do diagnostics on laser (ILT, Unitek Miyachi) and Allen Bradley controlled systems. To run tests, dry run, step through programs and other techniques to troubleshoot.
•Ability to re-set laser system after crashes, moves or optics changes.
•Manage scheduling and execution of the system calibrations.
•Work with tool designers and engineers to implement PM and fixture improvements.
•Ability to troubleshoot, repair, perform preventative maintenance, complete defect elimination projects on laser weld equipment.
•Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development. Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.
•Documenting all PM's, repairs, and projects in CMMS.
A Day in the Life
•Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
•Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing or plant equipment.
•Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
•Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs.
•Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment.
•May redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment.
•May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required.
