Resident Engineer (Finance)

Role description:

Our ideal candidate will become a member of our talented team of construction management professionals that focus on delivering outstanding client service, helping them program, plan, and deliver their infrastructure, building and engineering projects. Services include managing water and wastewater and other project types from the pre-bid phase through the construction phase for these exciting and challenging projects. In this role, you will use your knowledge of design, construction and project management to successfully deliver these projects to our clients. You will work closely with clients, engineers, contractors and end-users, demonstrating a strong understanding of the process. We're looking for candidates

Role accountabilities:

  • Construction management and resident engineering of public Design/Bid/Build, Design/Build, CMAR through all project phases: planning; design; preconstruction, construction, commissioning & validation.
  • Cost Estimating: Develop independent cost estimates for design phase submittals, pre-bid project cost estimates and change order estimates during construction. Also, negotiate change orders with contractors.
  • CPM Scheduling: With the support of one our experienced CPM schedulers, assist in the development of pre-bid CPM schedules from the project design documents, perform analysis of the contractor's baseline and monthly CPM schedule updates and deliver the analysis in a detailed report and during project meetings. Perform Time Impact Analysis to support negotiations of contractor requested time extensions.
  • Manage the processing of construction submittals and shop drawings between the contractor and our project design engineers.
  • Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process between the contractor and our project design engineers to ensure timely responses.
  • Produce project progress reports and briefings for project stakeholders.
  • Lead and conduct related project meetings. Develop meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Manage the project documents and communication through contract/document management software.
  • Oversee and coordinate with our project field inspectors.
  • Review, process and approve contractor's monthly payment applications with concurrence with the client's project team.
  • Develop a project risk register for each project and managed and report on the project risk register with the project team on a regular basis.
  • Support the development and presentations to groups to include clients and public meetings.
  • Establish a culture of health and safety on the project
Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • An Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant Resident Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related experience is desired.
Key Attributes
  • Our ideal candidate has strong communication skills, both verbal and written. The ideal candidate will have a positive and self-starter approach to delivering successful projects..
Preferred Qualifications
  • Water and Wastewater (treatment plants, pump stations, utilities) construction experience
  • 15 or more years of industry experience
  • Experience in construction management.
  • Experience creating project schedules in P6.
  • Experience developing cost estimates.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Experience in developing cost estimates is required.
  • Experience in reviewing CPM schedules and analyzing contractor's schedules in P6 is required.
  • Experience in commercial contract/document software is required.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project is a plus.

We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $112,000-168,000 / year.
