General Laborer (Finance)



Summary

The General Shop Laborer will perform a variety of basic shop tasks and assist welders, machine operators and others as needed.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of manufacturing environment tasks which may include, but is not limited to the following:
  • Operate basic hand and power tools such as drills, saws, grinders etc.
  • Assist assemblers, welders and machine operators as needed - this may entail deburring parts and cleaning parts in preparation for welding.
  • Operate forklift and overhead crane.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving activities including the fabrication of wooden shipping crates.
  • Assist with receiving in materials in Maxim's ERP system and inventory control.
  • Assist in quality control tasks.
  • Responsible for accurate reporting and record keeping as it relates to any assigned job responsibilities.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with the company's Safety, QA, Training programs and procedures.
  • Drive company truck and trailer for delivery and pick-up of parts and materials
  • Perform basic housekeeping duties to ensure overall organization and cleanliness of shop environment.
  • Perform a variety of additional general tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Able to work safely in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Able to accurately read a tape measure and blueprints
  • Able to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment
  • Ability to work alone and as a part of a team
  • Good teamwork, communication, problem-solving skills and an attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills
  • Demonstrate personal character in line with company Values and Code of Conduct
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
