Job Description
The Business Line CFO, Revenue for Silicon Valley Bank is the lead finance individual supporting the revenue generating business units across SVB and is responsible for the finance activities and functions as a business partner. The successful candidate will possess extensive finance expertise, outstanding strategic and analytical acumen, and perform the role of trusted advisor to key executive stakeholders; delivering timely, accurate and complete information accompanied by insightful analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future direction and growth of SVB by acting as a CFO for this fast-growing organization. The preferred candidate will be an experienced finance executive focused on strategy and execution. This role requires a dynamic leader with analytical experience in developing forecast models that drive strategic business decisions and performance management.
The Business Line CFO will report to SVB's Corporate Chief Financial Officer. This individual will lead a team of finance professionals and partner closely with the corporate FP&A team.
The BU CFO is responsible for all aspects of the financial activities including partnering with the leadership team on the execution of the annual plan, initiatives and action plans; forecasting future results; the accuracy of reported results, while ensuring that best in class internal controls, policies and procedures are maintained.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This executive will embody SVB's values and demonstrate that commitment through strategic decisions, day-to-day team management, and cross-functional collaboration.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 15 years of experience in increasingly responsible financial leadership roles.
Experience in financial analysis, planning, resource allocation and budgeting. Broad finance experience a plus. Experience in a banking or highly regulated financial services environment preferred.
Strategic finance leadership.
A track record of being respected as a thought partner by enterprise colleagues, including leveraging strategic and analytical capabilities to make sound, timely decisions based on business input including evaluating risk versus expense versus the client experience. Acts decisively in making solid, informed judgment calls on the day-to-day business issues. Exhibits the ability to strategize for growth and increase company profitability. Leverages strong financial modeling capabilities and has proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Axiom EPM and Hyperion Essbase.
Exceptional communication, relationship management, and influencing skills.
Experience managing multiple priorities and overseeing distinct teams with varied strengths. Proven ability to navigate complex and nuanced interpersonal issues, balance priorities of different stakeholders, and build trust among business partners. Strong emotional intelligence/maturity and senior level executive presence. Thrives on initiating, building and cultivating strong authentic relationships inside and outside the group.
Experienced, inspiring people leader able to attract and develop high performing, engaged teams.
Track record of empowering and actively fostering the growth and development of individuals. Experienced in effectively assessing, selecting and developing talent for the firm; adept at providing balanced, direct and actionable feedback to employees.
Education and professional credentials
BA/BS degree in accounting, economics, finance or information systems; CPA or equivalent; MBA and/or CFA not required but a plus.
