If you are a Materials Planner looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! This position is slated until October 2022. Based in our LOUISVILLE, KY location, you will work closely with the Materials, Procurement, Distribution Center and Accounting Teams and be responsible for maintaining solid communication and information flow through the supply chain. The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for analyzing demand requirements and material availability to prioritize and schedule the production cell. The Buyer/Planner will be expected to lead and participate in projects to support our drive for improvement in supplier on-time delivery, service level, production throughput, inventory days on hand reduction, new product launches and cost reduction initiatives. This position will work closely with the production team to maximize service levels. Other responsibilities include working with the Operations Supervisor to maximize throughput and resources as well as assist with cycle count reconciliation. This position must develop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal customers and outside suppliers. Regular interaction with all levels across multiple organizations is required.
AS A BUYER/PLANNER, YOU WILL:
Analyze data for planning and release, shortage resolution (for both raw material and finished goods), ordering and inventory analysis.
Schedules and releases production orders according to Kanban priority and production schedules.
Work with Manufacturing Manager to plan capacity for each cell
Provides delivery date commitments on work in process and finished goods products to Value Stream manager, materials manager and Customer Service.
Prepares purchasing requisition, generate Purchase Orders; work with supplier to ensure parts are delivered on time to Purchase Order schedules within the Supplier Collaborative Portal.
Reviews exception report from MRP system and make adjustments as required.
Work with Suppliers to reconcile invoices and payments and manage for performance improvements.
Monitor inventory level to avoid excess inventory, inventory shortages and or inventory inaccuracies.
Assist with cycle count reconciliations if needed.
Work with Quality personnel to resolve supplier quality issues.
Performs all tasks in accordance with the Company's Business Conduct Guidelines.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain or equivalent required.
Ability to travel up to %5 for the position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
One to three years experience in a Supply Chain role (Planning, scheduling, and purchasing of materials), preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
SAP/JDE, ordering systems, and principles preferred.
Microsoft Office skills required include Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
