Job Overview:

Cooper Machinery Services is currently seeking a paid Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern. This position will assist our Operations and Engineering Teams in Houston to support our specific engineering activities that service our manufacturing process, equipment, and customer's needs.

The Engineer Intern will have an exciting opportunity to apply their engineering knowledge to develop practical and effective solutions in these markets.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Intern will typically support one or more experienced engineers in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of engineering.
  • Assist in preparing engineering related calculations, design drawings, specifications, and visual aids.
  • Collect and enter data and apply technical principles and theories to assist in interpreting and analyzing data.
  • Miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Undergraduate Student currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field at an accredited university with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Proficient using common Microsoft Programs (Outlook 365 is Cooper Standard)
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week (Monday – Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM) during the scheduled semester 
  • Must have legal U.S. working authorization to apply for this position
  • Must be fluent in English and readily understood by native speakers
