Facility Maintenance Technician (Finance)



Keep our operations running smoothly by ensuring our buildings, equipment, and workspaces stay safe, functional, and in great shape. As a Facility Maintenance Technician at MacLean-Fogg, you'll perform repairs, general upkeep, and support a variety of maintenance projects that keep our facility in top condition. This role is ideal for someone hands-on, resourceful, and eager to grow their skills across multiple trades.
Job Details
  • Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
  • Pay Range: $18.25 - $18.84 per hour (based on skills and experience)
  • Work Location: Onsite - Sterling, Illinois
  • Shift: 1st (6 AM - 2:30 PM)
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance work, including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glazing, and painting
  • Clean and maintain work areas; address maintenance incidents such as spills
  • Assist with facility improvement projects (e.g., painting, drywall, fixture installation, carpentry)
  • Move furniture, equipment, or materials as needed
  • Properly dispose of waste and scrap materials per company and regulatory standards
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment from approved sources
  • Accurately document maintenance work completed and associated costs
  • Support the maintenance team with various tasks and projects
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills/Competencies
  • Basic facility maintenance and repair across multiple trades
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions
  • Manual dexterity for detailed repair tasks
  • Ability to lift/move heavy objects safely
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical stamina to perform hands-on work
Qualifications (Required)
  • No formal education required
  • 0-2 years of general maintenance or facility repair experience
Qualifications (Preferred)
  • Certifications in trades (e.g., electrical, HVAC, plumbing) are a plus
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Required to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending and stooping required.
  • Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments.
