The Connected Services portfolio of offerings within JCI's OpenBlue Digital Solutions enables our customers to monitor and optimize their building performance and enable a transformative facility management and occupant experience that truly delivers on the promise of Smart Buildings. These offerings are currently delivered through several edge and cloud-based applications that leverage capabilities of our OpenBlue platform.
The Product Manager – Connected Controls, will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing the Product development and Management strategy for Connected Controls (Remote Diagnostics & Reporting product) offering. While working within the Digital Technologies group, the candidate will collaborate with Johnson Controls' Regional Service Execution teams to implement the digital product and strategy for Connected Controls and help achieve scale, digital transformation, achieve growth objectives and expand service revenue targets.
How you will do it
Candidate will develop, maintain, and implement the Connected Controls Digital and Service Product features and roadmap throughout the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch following prescribed Johnson Controls methodologies.
Lead innovation and design thinking exercises with diverse stakeholders to identify value propositions and develop detailed requirements for new product features.
Perform research and conduct market / competitive analysis to form strategic guidance.
Develop business cases for new products / features, including recommending product positioning and pricing strategy to drive digitally enabled services growth
Develop key product performance metrics that are meaningful to assess impact on business growth and customer value creation
Coordinate with stakeholders globally and regionally to collect and update product performance metrics for performance tracking on monthly basis
Improve our overall ability to assimilate the change introduced by Digital Transformation through training, communication and product documentation and improve product adoption.
Manage product technical literature and data with understanding of the sources and applications for the information, and associated industry and regulatory standards.
Work with Customer Success and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to understand customer commitments and revenue opportunities when planning development schedules, architecture transition and production deployments
As a SME, contribute to the pre-sales process through technical scoping, solution design and engage with customers when required
Maintain product performance SLAs and prioritize continuous improvements by collecting end-user feedback, requirements, and issues. Maintain JIRA boards to manage workload.
Collaborate with Commercial teams to develop Go-To-Market strategies, approach, and Marketing collateral for Product
Act as the official communicator to company executives, industry, regulatory bodies, sales teams, and customers presenting product offering and strategy.
What we look for
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
Demonstrated experience in Controls/Services domain.
Understanding and deep interest in smart building technologies, cloud and IOT
15+ years in HVAC industry within Product Management or similar field (Engineering, Program Management, Technical Support, Technical Marketing/Sales, etc.).
Strong communication skills with broad stakeholders in various technical and business disciplines
Good judgement and decision-making skills to lead multi-functional new product programs to market.
Customer-focused and positive approach to creative solutions.
Financial acumen to support business case development.
Experience in Project / Portfolio Management. Experience in Agile is a plus.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with an ability to objectively evaluate options/trade-offs and develop executive management-level recommendations
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while delivering a timely and high-quality end work product
Preferred
Experience in controls system integration products is a plus.
Facility management of controls system is a good add on.
