Scott Family Amazeum Overview
The Scott Family Amazeum is a hands-on, interactive museum in Northwest Arkansas that creates a fun environment where risk taking, imagining, problem solving, discovery and exploration bring children and adults together to play, learn and grow.
The Amazeum mission: To engage the imagination of families, children and adults through interactive exhibits, programs and resources while creating an excitement for life-long learning and enrichment of lives.
Through experiences at the Amazeum, individuals and the community are engaged in building relationships and developing identities as creative, curious, and innovative shapers for the region. Learning at the Amazeum is an active, playful exploration that inspires curiosity, is rooted in inquiry-based discovery, involves an element of risk, and centered on hands-on activities that allow guests to exercise critical thinking.
The Amazeum facility included approximately 50,000 square feet of indoor space and one acre of outdoor exhibition and activity space. The museum is located at the intersection of Museum Way and J Street in Bentonville, AR.
The position of Digital Media Coordinator requires excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal and visual communication skills. The successful candidate will be both a self-starter who knows how to take initiative, assess opportunities, and collaborate and work effectively with diverse personalities in a team-centered, rapidly changing environment. Project management, organizational, and self-regulatory skills are important.
Under the supervision of the Marketing Manager (MM), the Digital Media Coordinator (DMC) will develop and implement strategic media plans incorporating written and video content. The DMC will assist in managing multiple projects across various departments to gather information and feedback to create engaging content aligned with the museums mission and strategic objectives. The DMC also supports communications department objectives and initiatives. Responsibilities will also include managing the Amazeum website calendar, social media content calendar, message development, creating news releases and monitoring social media channels.
The DMC works closely with the Marketing Manager, Director of Development and Communications, Membership Manager, Production Artist, Executive Director and Amazeum Leadership, and front line guest service and education team members. The DMC will occasionally work with outside vendors, designers, content developers, and the media.
