Patient Registration Supervisor (Finance)

This Supervisory position is defined as a working supervisor responsible for covering and filling in staff position when needed. Produces and provides reports on departments performance. Analyzes data for improvement ideas. Monitors performance and provides feedback. Works with Director regarding employee issues including performance write-ups, terminations, and other emotionally charged discussions. Coordination of daily activities within the Patient Registration department. Works with Lead and Trainer to evaluate current work flow and make improvements. Works with immediate supervisor to implement new projects and processes Conducts yearly performance evaluations of assigned staff with Director of HIM as well as engaging in ongoing coaching, including corrective action as needed. Collaborate with HR on the hiring process responsible for screening applicants, interviewing and selection of staff, arranging their daily training/mentoring/support. Arrange and participates in the ongoing development of employees. Provides assistance in managing escalated issues as needed within the Clinic, maintaining a positive customer service approach at all times. Develops weekly schedule for assigned staff and develops plan for low staffing issues as needed. Helps resolve issues and interpersonal conflicts within the Registration department. Resolves patient complaints, and refers unresolved complaints to either the immediate supervisor or the appropriate Director and refers complaints requiring investigation to the Director of Revenue and Business Services. Works with Director of Revenue and Business Services regarding any changes or decisions involving staffing issues and responsibilities as needed, within assigned staffing levels. Ensures compliance with current Slocum policies and procedures. Ensures that all training manuals and department protocols are kept current. Lead departmental meetings, developing agendas and recording minutes. Participates in other meetings as requested by administration. Reports regularly to the Director of Revenue and Business Services regarding operational issues. Train to be able to step in and cover all positions within the department on a temporary basis as needed. Communicates daily and as needed with staff and administration. Assists with budget preparations and staff planning Acts as a positive role model in demonstrating excellent patient care and service standards. Coordinates across departments for implementation of new projects/processes Other duties as assigned
