Product Delivery Manager (Information Technology)

We continue to grow to meet the needs of long-term individual investors. Edward Jones is looking for an Agile leader to help lead innovation and support in the Fixed Income Trading area. The Tech Fixed Income Trading area manages numerous critical proprietary and vendor-supported applications, used daily by our home office associates and over 15,000 branch teams in the US and Canada to trade, support, and service fixed income trading functions.  This person will have responsibility for product delivery management and leadership of the software development associates within the team. Responsibilities include supporting your teams to elevate existing processes and tools to meet future needs for trading. 

What you'll do…

As a Product Delivery Management, you will lead onshore and offshore development resources to implement, configure, enhance, and support the Fixed Income Trading systems using leading-edge technologies. In this role, you will work closely with members of the team, Enterprise Architects, Business Leaders, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters including continual strategy setting and evaluation of delivery team structure in alignment with firm needs and direction in an Agile / Digital Product Management environment.



Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Employ Agile methodology with specific knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) preferred to manage the development process
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and oversight to the development team; participate in design discussions, drive technical decisions within and across the organization
  • Deep understanding of the product team's systems, processes, priorities, and technologies while representing these aspects to all levels of Information Systems leadership
  • Align team activities, strategies, responsibilities, and objectives with the firm's strategic direction
  • Remove obstacles and coordinating resources to continually increase team throughput, predictability, and quality
  • Build strong partnerships and relationships with product teams, departments, and other divisions
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors while aligning to the firm's objectives
  • Work with Technology shared services teams to remove impediments and obstacles for improvement of product delivery and cycle time
  • Contribute and maintain a product technology roadmap and backlog and the application of architectural standards in the team's deliverables
  • Guide teams to do their work in a way that minimizes key-person dependencies and knowledge silos
  • Provide representation to ensure firm and division processes are followed and risk is reduced by the product team (e.g., compliance, change management, information security, etc.)
  • Develop and execute on-going improvements for processes related to the team (e.g., resource management and support processes.)
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, JIRA, and ServiceNow to document and plan work
  • Ensure the execution and quality of multiple enhancements, support, and projects
  • Lead by example, demonstrating firm values

In the people leadership portion of this role, the leader will be responsible for:
  • Provide leadership, development, and mentoring to associates through examples and timely feedback
  • Identification of key team positions and develop ready-now successors
  • Develop and execute on-going improvements for processes related to the team (e.g., resource management and support processes)
  • Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across teams, departments, vendors, and other divisions
What you'll need…
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, etc. preferred or related to work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience directly related to Information Systems Technology with at least 1 year in a leadership role preferred (Lead analyst, project leaders, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile and Product Management practices
