Economic Development Project Manager (Biotech)
The Project Manager, Economic Development facilitates internal and external meetings, improves internal infrastructure, organizes economic development programs so that they run efficiently, manages key economic development initiatives to ensure program continuity, and develops processes to evaluate economic development projects and our volunteerism strategy. Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing a system for managing grant applications, coordinating the economic development and workforce development projects alongside the team to ensure proper handoff of projects within Shipt and external partners, honing our internal volunteer system , and assisting with related efforts or projects as assigned.
As the Economic Development Project Manager, you will:
Serve as our team's logistics and operational guru
Partner with key stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives
Work with the senior team to evaluate projects on a cost/benefit basis; eventually, this role will be responsible for performing economic impact reviews on projects.
Assisting the economic development team with inquiries from companies and organizations. This will include gathering project data and packaging that data for members across Shipt
Ensuring that projects/updates/presentations are ready for Economic Development meetings.
Connect the dots and keep the internal engine of our team running
Drive volunteer coordination of our employee resource groups, shopper experience team, and other colleagues alongside the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team
Drive implementation and maintenance of our corporate giving process via our website
Develop an outline for and drive the creation and execution of our quarterly “Shipt Serves,” annual reports and ultimately partner with the communications team to publish these reports
Work alongside financial partner to ensure strong budget management
Create consistent and coherent tracking system and ensuring our philanthropic giving
Additionally, this role will assist the team with data preparation for regular updates to Shipt executive team.
Key Skills:
Strong business acumen and ability to utilize databases to gather, analyze and synthesize data
Experience planning and managing projects with a community focus; economic development experience a plus
Collaborative team player with the ability to multitask with a disciplined attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to move people to action with precision, clarity, and joy
The ability to build cohesive reports and understand how data relates to economic development work and outcomes.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to community and business partners
Interest in equitable economic development and economic mobility
Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration, Political Science, Economic Development, Urban Planning, Economics, or a related field preferred but not required.
2+ years of work experience or management of projects and programs in economic development, redevelopment, commercial real estate development, banking, financial planning, business assistance and service, chamber of commerce, government, public facility or infrastructure development, public and/or private finance, or workforce development.
Must have intermediate or higher mastery of the Microsoft Office suite of products
Experience working with and/or working knowledge of a CRM system, a plus.
Administrative experience is desired but not required.
