Summary
The Event Staff (porters) are responsible for delivery of the Cornman Farms experience to all guests. This is a great opportunity for someone that is willing to do whatever needs to get done, and really enjoys working with people!
These positions focus on setting up and taking down for events. This includes dishwashing, moving and setting up tables & chairs, helping the setup and breakdown of our events in the tent, farmhouse, and barn, cleaning and helping with inventory, and assisting with the overall appearance of the grounds. Some supervised kitchen work (food prep and plating) will also be included.
Fridays and Sundays are our busiest event days, and weekday availability is also required.

$16.00 per hour
In addition to the hourly rate, Porters are eligible to participate in the Cornman Farms hourly tip pool, which averages an additional $5 per hour.
Shifts can start as early as 8:00 a.m. and end as late as 1:00 a.m. Typical shifts run between 9am-11pm.

The main role of this position is to assist with the setting up and breaking down of all events, including:
Dishwashing using automatic dishwashing machine and 3 compartment sinkMoving and arranging tables and chairsPlacing linens on tablesMopping and sweeping floors in all event spaces before and after eventsEnsuring that all rentals (plates, glassware, furniture, flatware, etc) are clean and properly storedGives exceptional service to all customers at our eventsResponds quickly to requests from guests, co-workers, supervisors and managers while being accurate, polite and enthusiasticMaintains a professional image at all times through actions and appearanceAssists with the overall appearance of the grounds including picking up trash and debrisCleans and maintains a safe and sanitary work environmentDemonstrates proper handling of food service equipmentDemonstrates proper handling and storage of cleaning equipmentIdentifies and works to resolve any issues that might occur during eventsAdheres to the highest standards of service while assisting with all areas of event operationsConducts all business in accordance with Zingerman's Guiding PrinciplesDemonstrates a commitment to the success of the business and team membersActs as a process engineer by following, improving and creating SOPs.***Reports to work on time and is ready to work at the start of each shiftFollows proper procedure for sick calls and schedule requests

***Everyone at Cornman Farms is a Process Engineer in addition to their primary role! Process engineering involves translating the needs of the guest into tasks and then the tasks into SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), then executing the SOPs focusing on the value added steps the guest needs and wants to reduce the 8 forms of waste. Each use of a task and SOP focuses on continuous improvement to make these steps better for the guests, employees and the business.
