QC Technician (Manufacturing)
Responsible for monitoring, and programing critical control points (CCP).
Responsible for monitoring and product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas if required.
Responsible for the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and documentation.
Ensures the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing.
Ensures employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices.
Ensures and educates employees on food safety and SQF standards.
Responsible to issue corrective action when directed.
Collect product samples for the lab when directed.
Perform inspections on Products, Equipment and Machinery.

Job duties include:
Perform daily sanitation review of equipment and production areas during pre- and operational inspections. Some of these controls include visual and ATP swabbing, allergen swabbing, and changeovers.
Ensure that all quality and Critical Control Points are followed as instructed.
Monitor accuracy of the information on finished product labels and compare to the information on the daily schedule; check allergens.
Collect quality and safety control records on ingredients, in-process and on finished products from a line. Some of these records are: temperature, weight, production date, foreign object detection, pH, lot number traceability and sample collection.
Report to QA Management or designee any deviation of the food safety and quality controls described above for sanitation and for food processing. Provide as much relevant and detailed information as possible on the potential cause of the deviation, corrective-preventive actions and documentation.
Check the integrity of packaging before and after production is completed. Ensure that packaging has not been exposed to any cross-contamination for pathogens, or cross-contact for allergens.
Follow specific procedures such as Holding, Warehouse Management, Sample Retention, proper documentation and FIFO plans.
Shipping and Receiving:
Shipping Container & Unit Lad inspection, compares spec to ingredients, verifies labels, artwork, counts, maintains paperwork, files documents, enters information into the computer for trends, gathers information from the computer.
Reviews QC hold sheet daily and from the hold sheet place and remove QC hold tags on and off product.
Incoming receipt inspection of product and packaging routinely, compares spec to ingredients and COA's.
Responsible for tagging and releasing of product of packaging.
Responsible for recording all the above inspections and checks
Set good example to other employees by following GMP and Food Safety Practices, chemical safety and company policies.
Inform Management when employees do not follow the company's GMP or any other rules.
Keep the working area clean and orderly.
Cover other QC Technicians in their duties when needed or during their absence.
Notify Management when you see a potential food safety risk and stop the line if needed.
Follow instructions on specific assignments assigned by Management and do them on time.
Education & Experience: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to read and interpret documented procedures and regulations.
Specific Skills Required:
Must be able to fill out routine documentation, work well with the other departments in the company, and perform any Quality Assurance task needed.
They must also have a full understanding of the company's HACCP Plan, GMP's, and SOP's.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to work well with others as a team member.
Ability to work in fast-paced, effectively under pressure, and deadline-oriented environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Working Conditions/Environmental/Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for the duration of the production shift.
The employee is infrequently required to sit; climb, balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must infrequently lift to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk all day in a production environment that can be wet, slippery, and wide ranges of temperatures.
Varying shift assignments and overtime hours may be required during periods of high workload.
