CISO - VP Information Technology (Project Management)

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) reports to the Chief Information Officer and is responsible for advancing the enterprise-wide information security management program to ensure information assets, intellectual property and critical infrastructure are adequately protected.

This role will require a senior information security and privacy leader who can work with and influence Jabil's Executive Team, partner with the leadership across the company on strategy, alignment and execution of Jabil's programs, and ensure a continued focus on managing risks to enable Jabil's continued success.  

The CISO will proactively and collaboratively work with stakeholders to define and drive information security requirements into practices across our business processes, products, and global IT systems.

The CISO will hire and grow teams to deliver approved security programs and ensure leadership visibility on progress and risk reduction. Lead implementation of, and compliance with, Jabil's acceptable use standards for company, employee, and customer data and act as a subject matter expert in enterprise security, security incident response, forensics, privacy, related employee education programs, and compliance strategy.  

Additionally, the CISO will identify, evaluate and report on information security risks in a manner that meets the client's legal, regulatory and contractual requirements.  

This person will also own responsibility for the Enterprise e-Discovery process including investigations, forensic analysis, preservation, retention and processing. Lead Security Leadership Team to ensure appropriate security controls are enforced throughout the enterprise and implement strategic security objectives across the enterprise. 

The CISO works with Risk Office team to determine acceptable levels of risk for the enterprise.  

Key Responsibilities  

  • Maintain and enhance Enterprise Security Service business model.  
  • Develop, implement and publish global information security standards, polices and guidelines
  • Develop business-relevant metrics to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the client's information security management program, facilitate appropriate resource allocation and increase the maturity of the program
  • Ensure the information security management program is compliant with applicable laws, regulations, contractual requirements, and policies to minimize or eliminate risk and address audit findings
  • Provide subject matter expertise to executive management on a broad range of information security standards and best practices (e.g. the ISO/IEC 27000 series, the NIST Computer Security Division Special Publications and Federal Information Processing Standards, TISAX, ISO 21434) and offer strategic and tactical security guidance for all IT projects, including the evaluation and recommendation of technical controls. Consult with executive management to determine acceptable levels of risk for the enterprise
  • Oversee incident response planning and management of security incidents and events to protect client IT assets (e.g. information, critical infrastructure, intellectual property, and reputation), such duties to include overseeing the investigation of security breaches and assisting with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches, as necessary

  • Coordinate the use of external resources involved in the information security management program, including, but not limited to, interviewing, assisting in negotiating contracts and fees and managing external resource
  • Maintain relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and other related government agencies
  • Work with the CIO to coordinate and manage public relations activities as they relate to the information security program and incident response  
  • Document and assess the collection and use of personal data throughout Jabil  
  • Establish ongoing processes to institutionalize privacy protection, including monitoring of web site privacy policies; training; auditing; and enforcement  
  • Coordinate compliance with EU Data Protection Directive and evolving privacy laws of the U.S. and other countries to which Jabil is subject  
  • Protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information in the custody of or processed by the company
  • Respond in a timely manner to loss or misuse of information assets
  • investigations of suspected information security misuse or in compliance reviews as requested by auditors  
  • Communicate unresolved security exposures, misuse, or noncompliance situations to Jabil Management  
  • Coordinate security reviews with internal and external IT Audit groups  
  • Assist peer managers in understanding and responding to security audit failures reported by internal and external auditing departments  
  • Interface with Information Security Service providers  
  • Manage the monthly Intrusion Detection and Vulnerability report reviews, including the coordination of all required fixes/changes  
  • Provide consultation/advice to enterprise teams on the security requirements for their projects  
  • Create and maintain organization and structure to ensure Business Unit compliance with Jabil security and privacy standards
  • Ability to relate business requirements and risk to technology implementation for security-related issues  
  • The ideal candidate is an integrator of people and processes, an innovative leader, a problem solver, an effective consultant, and possesses solid domain competency in the field of information security management by having demonstrated experience in a leadership role. Candidate will have strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of information security standards, codes of practice and guidelines such as the ISO/IEC 17999 and 27000 series, the NIST Computer Security Division Special Publications and Federal Information Processing Standards
  • Sound understanding of generally accepted IT security and privacy audit procedures and standard
  • Must possess or be able to acquire Federal Secret Security Clearance
  • Must pass a complete background check    
  • Knowledge of risk assessment procedures, policy formation, role-based authorization methodologies, authentication technologies, and security attack pathologies
  • Confidence and leadership as a member of project teams in a cross-functional environment  
  • Project management skills, including financial/budget management, scheduling and resource management, certification as PMP or related certification a plus  
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals  
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix organization

Education

  • 4-year college degree in Computer Science or other relevant discipline required. Master of Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of IT Management experience at a Fortune 500 company or government organization with at least 4 years of IT Security senior leadership experience   
  • Strong preference for Professional Security Certification Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CISA or CISM
  • Forensic experience or associated certifications (EnCE, EnCEP, etc)
  • Six Sigma Certification:  Green Belt or Black Belt
