RN (per diem) (Healthcare)



The LifeWays Registered Nurse (RN), under the supervision of the Supervisor, Integrated Health Clinic and in partnership with the Supervisor, Crisis Residential Unit, provides culturally competent and trauma-informed services to all consumers seeking access to behavioral health services via LifeWays, utilizing established criteria and clinical skills to screen individuals for community mental health eligibility and provide appropriate interventions to individuals presenting in crisis. In all situations, the RN incorporates LifeWays mission, vision and values into the decision-making process.
Essential Functions
Welcomes all individuals by demonstrating empathy and providing opportunity for the person presenting to describe their situation, problems and functioning difficulties, exhibiting excellent customer service skills, and working with them in a non-judgmental way.Administers and monitors medication and lab orders as ordered by the prescribing provider.Monitors LifeWays Electronic Organizer (LEO) Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to ensure accuracy of all information including medication lists, diagnoses, allergies, and lab orders/results.Completes nursing assessments, PC/CLS assessments, screenings, and provides nursing education.Provides support to the Operations Division (Clinical Care Services team) for any interventions requiring medication administration or to assess possible emergent health concerns.Attends to the calls regarding prescriptions and any other nursing calls within timeliness standards.Provides needed assistance to consumers including prescriptions, referrals, lab work and other needs as identified.Assures Tele-Health equipment is functional, and area is free of clutter.Responsible for monitoring of Clozaril labs and other lab work, documenting in appropriate database and EMR.Provides daily coverage in the Integrated Health Clinic and Crisis Residential Unit and assists Clinic-Based Services staff to ensure proper care of the consumer.Assists the Supervisor, Crisis Residential Unit, in providing clinical oversight of the continuum of crisis services during non-business hours.Communicates essential information to staff and solicits feedback/input from staff.Promotes and encourages communication between clinical, supervisory, and residential staff.Provides on-call coverage when requested or necessary.Maintain regular and predictable attendance.All other duties as assigned.
