Overview
The Ethics & Compliance Generalist supports the major global programs of the Cook Medical Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Program (Program), such as Cook Global Records Management, E&C Risk Management, research, monitoring and auditing, and content development assistance.
Responsibilities
- Fully understand fundamental Program requirements from sources including, but not limited to, Cook Group Written Standards, US Federal Sentencing Guidelines, AdvaMed, MedTech Europe, MTAA, MEDEC, FDA, global medical device regulatory authorities, corporate compliance program evaluation references
- Support the following major global programs: Cook Global Records Management, E&C Risk Management
- Maintain a working knowledge of the law and policy landscape which may affect our programs
- Conduct research related to E&C topics including, but not limited to enforcement trends, regulatory changes, and industry benchmarking, as assigned
- Participate in internal monitoring and auditing of program components as part of the global program audit schedule, as assigned.
- Assist with E&C communication planning and content development, such as E&C newsletters and articles for Cook publications
- Facilitate planning and maintenance for the E&C intranet SharePoint site
- Demonstrate attention to detail, engagement, natural curiosity, and an adequate sense of urgency when necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background
- Experience working in human resources, law, regulatory affairs, ethics, and/or other compliance-related fields preferred
- Proven ability to perform subject matter research and analysis
- Strong writing, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- SharePoint Online use and development experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Works under general office conditions
- Sitting for extended periods
- Requires close visual acuity when working with computers, etc.
- Presentation of training materials to various employee levels
- Visual and manual proficiency with computer based presentations
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA
