Part-time (20-25 hours/week) opening in our School Based Mentoring program as a Mentoring Site Supervisor at Orville Elementary in Modesto. Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Mentoring and Community Support the Mentoring Site Supervisor is responsible for the overall mentoring site management, supervision, planning and implementing of activities and contractual/regulatory compliance of the mentoring site. Essential Job Functions: 1. Physical, mental and emotional health adequate to perform duties. 2. Must have willingness to fulfill the job responsibilities in accordance to the program and organizational goals. 3. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situation. 4. Ability to monitor behavior during program activities and general housekeeping responsibilities. 5. Ability to relate to children and adults in a professional manner. 6. Ability to effectively communicate with staff, children, agency officials and the community at large. 7. Must have a warm and friendly personality, while having sensitivity to meet the needs of a diverse population. 8. Due to the State Public Health Officer Order of August 11, 2021: All workers in a public or private K-12 school facility are required to either be fully COVID-19 vaccinated with documentation to that effect on file or to undergo weekly diagnostic screening testing by October 15, 2021 to enter these school worksites.
Responsibilities: 1. Plan, supervise and implement the program, monthly goals and objectives, calendar of activities, daily schedule, curriculum, in accordance with the goals and policies of Sierra Vista Child & Family Services. 2. Ensure that program mentors and mentees consistently comply with all regulations and policies and procedures of the partnering agencies as well as Sierra Vista Child & Family Services. 3. Ensure established emergency procedures are followed at all times by all mentors and mentees, ensuring the safety of the participants and staff. 4. Accurately document all incidents/accidents and ensure proper communication to all parties as appropriate. 5. Maintain complete and up-to-date records, including attendance, absentees, and emergency information on all children enrolled. Ensure accuracy and consistency of sign in/out sheets. 6.Provide direction and guidance to mentors on a regular basis. Coordinate mentor schedules and monitor mentor's arrivals, departures and absences. 7. Coordinate daily program operations including; daily set up, program planning and site maintenance including, but not limited to; cleaning designated mentoring room, wiping down tables, sweeping/mopping/vacuuming floors, taking out trash, and securing facilities and equipment. 8. Communicate in a positive and effective manner with all participants, school officials, parents, community members and co-workers. 9. Maintain professional demeanor at all times to ensure Sierra Vista Child & Family Services image and mission statement are upheld. 10. Assist in the recruitment of mentors. 11. Report any suspected child abuse immediately to direct supervisor or if not available up the chain of command. 12. Report any suspected dependent adult/elder abuse immediately to direct supervisor or if not available up the chain of command. Other: 1.
