As a Full-Time Staff Accountant in Nystrom & Associates' New Brighton, MN office, you will be a key contributor - responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas, with an emphasis on accounts payable. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the finance team.

Key Duties include
· Providing accounting support for projects by reviewing financial information
· Reviewing all accounts payable invoices for appropriate documentation and approvals prior to payment
· Preparing payments by accruing expenses as necessary; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts as needed
· Processing check requests accurately and in a timely manner
· Booking and documenting all vendor invoices; responding to vendor inquiries
· Reconciling vendor statements; following-up with and correcting any discrepancies
· Booking and tracking account receivables
· Posting journal entries to the firm's general ledger accounting software package
· Reconciling balance sheet and income statement general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
· Assisting the VP of Finance with the month-end and year-end close process
· Assisting the VP of Finance with ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
