Jetway Supervisor - Overnight Shift (Security)



Responsible for planning and directing electrical/mechanical preventative maintenance, and repair of various equipment and
components on the airport.

  • Location:        Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) 
  • Shift:               Overnight shift starting at 11:00pm
  • Rate of Pay:    $25.00 an hour
  • Training Schedule:  Training on 2nd shift. 
  • Required:        must possess mechanical tools   

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Station's attendance/tardiness standards.
  • Directs Jetway Mechanics' work assignments.
  • Directs preventative maintenance inspections, lubrication and repairs on terminal aircraft passenger bridges, and
    inbound/outbound conveyor bag belt systems.
  • Directs preventative maintenance inspections, lubrication and repairs to passenger entry and exiting automatic electrical doors within the main airport terminal.
  • Oversees equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operating status.
  • Coordinates manufacture system upgrades.
  • Reads electrical/hydraulic/construction schematics, as this knowledge can be transferred to our operations troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Proficient in use of volt/amp/ohm meters.
  • Follows company safety policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises Jetway Mechanics. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable
laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing
complaints and issues.

  • Possess/maintain a valid state driver's license and other FAA Airport required identification/seals or
    authorizations.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment Background and a drug-screen
  • Computer knowledge in Word and data base formats
  • One to two-year certificate from college or technical school; three years related experience and/or training; or
    equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior technical maintenance supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership experience in maintenance with a background in electrical/mechanical operation.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information small group situations to
    customers, clients, supervisor, as well as other employees of the company.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions,
    and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical
parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of
electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work
environment is usually very loud.

Must pass pre-employment drug-test.
