This position will cover multiple responsibilities including scheduling and registration. Taking patient calls and appropriately scheduling appointments for physicians, diagnostics, and ancillary services. Request interpreters as appropriate.Appropriately documents patient insurance information in EPM system.Obtain information about pertinent medical records from other physician offices, and follows up as appropriate.Forward patient medical concerns to the appropriate party.Returns all calls to patients and follows up on voicemails appropriately by the end of each working day.Send out new patient packets.Calls patients from faxed referrals/records to set up appointments.Complete tasks as sent by medical assistants, prior authorization, occupational medicine, and other departments.Complete work-in notes from ED Line and other sources.Work with team to complete pending inbox and standup files.Routinely monitor physician and cast room schedules as assigned.Completes Televox report on a daily basis.Works one on one with patients, which includes creating visit encounters, gathering and entering their past medical history, past surgical history, family medical history, social history, medication allergies, and current medications. Asks and enters Immunization & Fall Risk questions for Meaningful Use.Updates patient demographics as needed, including name, address, and phone number changes. Verifies and/or adds the patient's Primary Care Physician. Scans through the patient's chart to ensure we have all necessary information, and adds any missing information. (Employer, middle initial, Guarantor demographics, Insurance card.)Verifies Insurance plans for accurate billing and makes updates as needed at time of arrival. Ensures that we have the correct Guarantor attached for the clinical encounters with all the correct paperwork signed for the corresponding necessary dates. Scans the insurance cards into the patient chart along with the patients valid Drivers License for identification purposes.Collects co-pay amounts at the time of the appointment and accepts payments on account as needed for services rendered. Maintains and balances a daily cash drawer.
