Job Summary:
We are seeking an in-house Assistant General Counsel to assist in protecting SCA's legal interests in a variety of transactional activities including the areas of mergers & acquisitions, customer contracts, and litigation in accordance with applicable federal and state regulatory requirements. The Assistant General Counsel will report directly to the General Counsel and will have significant exposure to the company's leadership, management, and all functional areas.
 

Location:  4141 Rockside Road, Seven Hills, Ohio

Hours:  M-F Days

Job Responsibilities:
 

  • Draft and review key documents, policies, resolutions, and other legal documents.
  • Serve as liaison with outside counsel in both litigation and non-litigation matters.
  • Review and revise service agreements as well as assist in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the company's contracting process.
  • Improve existing contract templates and create new templates as needed.
  • Evaluate and improve contracting process activities, leveraging technology to create efficiency as much as possible to reduce the burden on firm leaders.
  • Oversee timely and appropriate responses on behalf of the company to requests for records and other information.
  • Keep current on developments in law and regulation at the federal, state, and local level.

Job Requirements:
 

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and a license to practice law in the state of Ohio.
  • 1- 5 years of experience working in a fast-paced, interactive environment,
  • Must be highly organized with strong time management, project management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects / matters to closure.
  • Able to identify and analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions.
  • This position requires sound judgment, a high degree of integrity and discretion as well as initiative, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
