M&M'S Las Vegas - Retail Visual Coordinator (Finance)



Job Description:

This is an hourly position that pays between $23-$25/hr ($47,840 - $52,000/year) plus annual bonus plan, based on experience.

Job Purpose/Overview
The primary focus of this role is to create an Unforgettable Guest Experience that aligns with M&M'S brand standards in visual merchandising.

As a Visual Merchandising Coordinator, you play a crucial role in achieving presentation excellence, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience that reflects M&M'S Brand Standards. This position is key to maintaining a cohesive M&M'S ecosystem by bringing our key activations and storytelling to life within the store. You will be responsible for upholding and executing established policies and procedures related to inventory management, replenishment, quality assurance, and food safety requirements.

Context & Scope
The role of the Visual Merchandising Coordinator is critical for the delivery of an Unforgettable Guest Experience in our retail stores, and for upholding visual merchandising and presentation excellence.

Success is found in this role through navigating ambiguity, seeking solutions proactively and working collaboratively and pursuing personal development.

Key Responsibilities
STORE OPERATIONS

  • Adhere to all One M&M'S Standard Operating Procedures and Policies
  • Subject matter expert in visual merchandising and presentation excellence
  • Maintain standards for presentation minimums allowing guests to shop with ease to maximize sales and shopping experience
  • Ensure that all areas of the store, including installations and permanent displays, are well-prepared, clean, organized, operational, and safe
  • May participate in auditing events to local and/or company standards
  • Drive Quality to achieve compliance in food regulation, local regulation, and auditing
  • Maintain visual merchandising prop inventory and sign libraries organized in designated locations

M&M'S BRAND AMBASSADOR + PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE

  • Execute visual direction, including seasonal changes, as communicated by the Support Center, while serving as the in-store expert on merchandise collections and presentation standards
  • Provide education for all store Associates to maintain the high visual standards including initiative details and timelines to support brand reputation
  • Utilize knowledge of basic composition and merchandising principles, along with spatial awareness, to adapt floor sets in real-time to address the changing demands of selling, ultimately supporting sales volume and enhancing the overall shopping experience
  • Protect confidential information regarding brand assets and updates
  • Internally, advocating for inclusion and diversity through role modelling behaviors
  • Externally, may relate the brand purpose, helping to enhance brand loyalty - potentially supporting in hosting and organizing events

GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Actively foster a "Guest Comes First" attitude by embracing the power of fun and promoting inclusivity, ensuring that everyone feels they belong. Engage with guests to create memorable experiences, because after all, "It's more fun together!"
  • Use resourcefulness with product knowledge and category components, keeping displays/spaces occupied and shoppable for guests to experience and enjoy
  • Ensures selling floor is maintained daily: (displays dust free, fully stocked fixtures, fixture alignment/placement and signing standards perfect, mannequin styled and positioned as directed)
  • Leads execution of visual direction of core merchandising programs, new product launches, seasonal activations and promotional calendar provided by the Visual Merchandising team
  • Adaptively provide selling and hospitality support for guests as needed, ensuring that the evolving demands of the business are met effectively and efficiently

BUSINESS RESULTS

  • Review sales and daily KPIs results against business objectives to identify opportunities to maximize profitability
  • Support visual strategies and plans to drive operational growth through the merchandising principles and product placement
  • Implement planograms and offer alternative options to enhance sales performance when short-term gaps arise
  • Aid to ensure the reduction of waste across all areas of the store
  • Identify visual and inventory gaps & opportunities, flagging risks to the leadership team, planning team, and other relevant business partners

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT + COMMUNICATION

  • Responsible for meeting deadlines and executing visual initiatives, as outlined in the internal communications calendar
  • Collaborate with in store team and Support Center Stakeholders to ensure Brand standards.
  • Partner with the leadership team over local retail business trends, insights, opportunities and community outreach
  • Coordinates with vendor partners on installation planning and sign-offs ensuring a flawless execution
  • Foster clear and effective communication across all levels of the organization to ensure alignment, enhance collaboration, and drive operational success, recognizing that strong communication is essential for achieving team goals and delivering exceptional guest experiences

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP

  • Support the development of a fun and inclusive environment where Associates feel comfortable being their true and authentic self at work to bring out the best in each other
  • Coach and provide feedback to associates and relay performance insights back to Line Managers
  • Exemplify The Five Principles and Associate Concept

Other duties as assigned by the Leadership team.

Job Specifications/Qualifications
Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience required

Experience

  • Minimum 2-year experience in a retail environment, with an emphasis or specialization in visual merchandising
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • High degree of creativity and resourcefulness
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in applying signage, assemblage and installation of visual props and mannequin styling
  • Able to climb ladders, standing and lifting merchandise, boxes & props
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in executing merchandising techniques and principles and translating planograms.
  • Demonstrates strong interest in design, photography & fashion trends

Key Experiences Preferred but not required

  • Experience in coaching others
  • Graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite
