Branch Operations Manager - Mobile Market (Project Management)



Position Overview:

The Branch Operations Manager manages daily driver route assignments while utilizing technology provided by the Logistics Department. The Manager has the responsibility to ensure the Service Technicians meet the needs of the customers while complying with DOT regulations including time worked and time driven as well as all applicable regulations.

Essential Functions

  • The Branch Operations Manager is responsible for the P&L for his/her area of responsibility and is to stay within the budgeted expenses and to meet the revenue goals each month.
  • Review the monthly financial figures with your team as the numbers become available.
  • The Branch Operations Manager is to perform Route Observations (up to 4 per month).
  • Perform vehicle Inspections on all vehicles monthly.
  • Proactive approach to customers, build a relationship, communicate, visit face to face and by phone, prevent issues before they become a problem, resolve any issues, and keep their business.
  • Ensure that the Service Technicians are in uniform, the vehicles are clean, and that both represent a professional and positive image of the company at all times.
  • Work closely with the Fleet maintenance team and other vendors in the area to ensure the best possible service for the vehicles and equipment (visit once or twice monthly).
  • Work closely with drivers and troubleshooting of equipment issues.
  • Keep an on-hand inventory of supplies/tools and commonly needed equipment and supplies to minimize lost time due to outages while preventing an overstocked situation.
  • Monitor and provide performance feedback on a consistent and timely basis.
  • Know, understand, and comply with the regulations & permitting requirements for all entities in your area of responsibility.
  • Know every piece of equipment in your fleet.
  • In the event of an emergency or accident take the lead and follow the protocol. Maintain a listing of emergency contacts as well as team member contact numbers.
  • Complete and/or check the daily, weekly and monthly paperwork (I.e. logs, work orders, DVCR's, payroll, downtime reports, missed services, etc.).
  • Must be familiar with standard Company practices and procedures when assigning routes or taking customer calls.
  • Must be able to solve problems, resolve differences, and prioritize and multi-task.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Ensure that drivers conform to all safety, and DOT regulations and use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, vendors and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with other departments.
  • Be able to drive when emergencies arise.
  • Be able to train and develop employees.
  • On call nights and weekends
  • Leader and Facilitator.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated good decision making and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Knowledge of CDL regulations
  • Knowledge of multiple types of trucks
  • Previous management experience
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and be organized
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • General office conditions
  • Some stress with multiple phone calls, problem solving and time lines
  • Some light lifting and bending
  • Periods of sitting

Education and Experience  

  • High School degree
  • CDL license and experience driving large trucks is a plus
  • Two to four years' experience in a related area
  • Successful experience managing employees
  • Demonstrated good decision making and problem solving skills
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and be organized
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
