Clinical Systems Analyst - Ambulatory (Information Technology)



Work Schedule: 

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position scheduled to work Monday through Friday, with core hours between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM plus an afterhours on-call rotation. Applicants hired into this position can work remotely from most states. This will be discussed during the interview process.

We are seeking a Clinical System Analyst – Ambulatory to:

  • Perform analysis, design, and development of the Epic Ambulatory application and related clinical information systems.
  • Participate in planning, leading and implementing projects related to the Information Systems and Applications within the UW Health Information Services department.
  • Be responsible for the on-going maintenance, testing and support of clinical systems within UW Health. The position may also assist in directing the strategic plan in the support and evolution of complex systems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think critically, learn continuously, ask questions, ensure correct answers, dig deep and make a difference.
  • Lead in the development of workflows, system configuration, change documentation and support of operations on application functionality.

Education:

Minimum –

  • Associate degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, Health Administration, Engineering, or related field 
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree

Preferred – Bachelor's or Master's degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, Health Administration, Engineering, or related field

Work Experience:

Minimum –

  • Demonstrated success in design, development, configuration, support, and adoption of small to medium to scale solutions.
  • Demonstrated success applying critical thinking to identify problems and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success teaching and mentoring

Preferred –

  • Demonstrated success using, configuring, developing, or supporting the applications, tools, and platforms relevant to the position.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years progressively responsible experience in an IS applications field.
  • Demonstrated success working on or leading initiatives that use agile method. 
  • Experience in information services or technology, direct clinical care, health care operations, or health care administration. 
  • Healthcare subject matter expertise including at least two (2) years of experience in a health system, academic medical center, or health payer organization.
  • Experience supporting systems and/or operations in a 24x7 healthcare setting

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum – None

Preferred –

  • Vendor (e.g. Epic, Oracle, other) certifications as relevant for the position , per department guidelines
  • CPHIMS, PMP, ITIL
