General Information:

Title: Contract Manager

Status: Full-time; Exempt                                   

Location/Site: San Antonio

Hours: Monday – Friday, possible weekends   

Reports to: CEO                                                

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Position Overview:

The Contract Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and executing contracts that support complex operations across our oil & gas, emergency response, construction, and utilities sectors. This position requires a strong command of contract law, commercial strategy, and regulatory compliance across several highly regulated industries. Responsibilities span the full contract lifecycle—from initial drafting and negotiation through execution, renewal, and closeout—ensuring alignment with business goals, risk management standards, and operational timelines. A successful candidate will bring deep experience in managing contracts related to field services, infrastructure development, capital projects, and vendor relationships within the energy, water, or utility services landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of contracts, including master service agreements, subcontractor contracts, procurement/vendor agreements, and utility-related regulatory documents.
  • Risk & Compliance Oversight: Ensure contracts are compliant with federal/state regulations and internal risk policies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Legal to align contract terms with project objectives.
  • Milestones & Obligation Tracking: Maintain detailed records of key contract dates, deliverables, SLAs, renewal terms, and amendments.
  • Process Enhancement: Streamline contract workflows, standardize templates, and support digital contract lifecycle management (CLM) initiatives.
  • Engage in and complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Engineering, or a related field; JD or paralegal certification preferred.
  • 5–7 years of direct experience in contract management.
  • Familiarity with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction, Power Purchase Agreement, or utility service contract frameworks.
  • Strong negotiation, drafting, and redlining skills.
  • Proficiency with contract management tools such as Ironclad, Agiloft, SAP Ariba, or similar.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, project tracking, and risk evaluation.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration between department(s)

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of capital project lifecycles, field operations support, or vendor contract performance.
  • Familiarity with utility billing models, asset management systems, or field service platforms.
