Sustainability Program Specialist - MGT (Finance)
Requires analytical and technical skills as well as partnering skills typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Energy Management, Environmental Science, Public Administration, Engineering or closely related field and 5 (five) years of specific work experience in energy management or sustainability fields. Must have experience in energy modeling and utility budget forecasting as well as practical application of LEED. Demonstrates the skills necessary to assess sustainability programs, identify areas of opportunity, and develop plans for improvement. Should be adept at setting priorities and allocating resources. Demonstrates effective interpersonal, and written communication skills, as well as a commitment to environmental sustainability. Must be highly dependable and capable of exercising sound, independent judgement, discretion, and tact. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and LEED AP required. Additional sustainability certifications preferred. Experience with fiTWELL or WELL Building Standard preferred.
Duties include but not limited to energy project management, sustainability certification project management, develop and manage sustainability studies, manage operational contracts, conduct energy and waste audits, develop and write project scope of work and execute facility projects, prepare reports and presentations, present to a wide range of audiences and greenhouse accounting.
Gathers information and makes strategic plans to improve the Board's performance in energy usage and sustainability. Information gathered is interpreted, validated, and prioritized with Board partners and translates areas for improvement into viable action plans. Develops and implements these plans by partnering with various entities at the Board.
Assesses areas of weakness in the Board's overall approach to sustainability, energy usage, and green building operations. In concert with other customers in Facility Services and clients at the Board, develops a long-term approach and strategy for improvement and help to build that strategy into future renovations and projects undertaken by the Board.
Provides expertise in sustainability. Maintains current knowledge of; and anticipates significant developments in the field to ensure that the Board's programs are comparable, competitive, cost-effective, and compliant.
Communicates with all staff levels at the Board. May interact with the public. Assignments generally require frequent contact with senior management. May be required to meet or make high level presentations to Board members or maintain cordial working relationships with staff and officials at the Federal Reserve Banks, federal financial regulatory and other agencies, and/or external organizations. Responds to requests in a timely fashion.
Does not supervise employees.
