The Medium Voltage Engineer is responsible for developing and supporting electrical equipment that are currently used in or being developed as part of our completions equipment strategy using medium voltage gear. The MV Electrical Engineer will work with End-to-End Manager and Service Delivery Managers and will focus on the engineering side of these projects – including the evaluation and implementation of equipment, systems, and technology. The MV Electrical Engineer will be responsible for equipment development and overseeing testing programs to verify product performance and will collaborate with both internal and external partners including but not limited to Field Operations, Engineering, Safety Heath and Environment, Equipment Life Cycle, Digital Manufacturing, Executive Leadership, Manufacturing, and Vendors.

This person will work with leaders from the NexGen operational business unit to analyze, define, and document all necessary changes as well as to translate new requirements into training-related materials and documentation for field users.

Key Accountabilities

• Work closely with all support staff (Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, and other leaders) to build and secure the support and resources for projects and initiatives.
• Design, implement, maintain, qualify, and improve medium voltage systems, electrical boards, instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for usage.
• Support all operations during initial MV equipment deployment with hands-on training and product knowledge.
• Confer with engineers and other NexGen & NexTier personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
• Identify and implement proper Preventive maintenance procedures for the E House electrical components, like Variable frequency drivers, Transformers, inverters, PLC, and coolant systems.
• Provide training and development for field operations through effective coaching.
• Implement scalable best practices that are continuously improving the company's efficiencies and KPIs.
• Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
• Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
• Help set standards regarding electric fleet-related processes including equipment maintenance and upkeep.
• Identify and implement long-term resolutions to systematic failures and issues that arise.
• Engages with internal and external customers on a regular basis, delivering safe and efficient operations, tailored solutions, and maximizing the delivery of value for both the company and its customers.
• Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential components, and systems.
• Perform personnel functions, such as supervision of production workers, technicians, and other junior engineers, and design of evaluation programs.
• Participate in and lead team efforts to continually improve the product development process.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of medium-voltage drives (VFDs) and motors and how they relate to Frac electrical equipment, mechanical-electrical build process, and primary components, including low-voltage PLCs and Instrumentation.
• Strong familiarity with power generation and distribution system design, processes, and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.

Minimum Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related I&E engineering is required.

Minimum Required Work Experience

• Minimum of 5 years experience in an engineering role within the upstream Oil & Gas industry or Mining
• Minimum of 5 years working experience with the manufacturing of PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation.

Licenses & Certifications

• ABB or Danfoss certification(s)
